2016 Masters of Building Arts Festival

The American College of the Building Arts is hosting our 12th annual Masters of the Building Arts Festival (MBA) is a celebration of the Nation's best Artisans. With vendors like Lie-Nielson, preimeer hand tool manufacturer and Mid-West Tool Collectors who have hard-to-find tools.  Some of the best craftsmen in the nation will be demonstrating their skills in: blacksmithing, stone carving, timber framing, carpentry, brick masonry, and plaster work.  

Lie-Nielson and Mid-West Tool Collectors will be open at 10am on Friday, April 8th Lie-Nielson will have demonstrations from Mary May, Scott Meeks, and Joseph Thompson all day Friday and Saturday.

ACBA's Student Guild presents their Craftsmen and Craft Brews with Lowcountry Boil.  This ticketed event begins at 6:00 pm and wraps up at 8:00.   Local brewers, craftsmen, architects, students, demonstrators, and neighbors all sit together enjoying an authentic Lowcountry meal with great brews.

The Festival Day begins at 10am Saturday with demonstrations from gratuates, internship providors, friends of the College who come from as far away as Montana to elevate the craftsmenship of their trades.  See Robert Thomas creating beautiful iron pieces, Mimi Moore carving limestone, and Trillium Timberfram demonstrating the skills involved in timberframing.  Foodtrucks, music, student work and hands-on experiences for all ages are scheduled through out the day.

Workshops begin at 10:30 and and wrap up about 2pm.  Tickets may be puchased below.
