We're firing up the smokers for a good cause with their first-ever Battle of the Butts, a backyard BBQ showdown happening on Saturday, July 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. in North Charleston.
Local amateur pitmasters will compete in two categories, Best Pulled Pork and Best Side Dish, in a friendly cook-off to raise funds for the South Carolina Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Guests can enjoy tasting portions from every team and cast their votes for the fan favorites.
Admission is $10 and includes food samples from all teams, as well as a ballot for the People's Choice award.
Winners will be selected by both a panel of judges and attendees. Prizes include:
1st Place: Brand New Pellet Smoker
2nd Place: $200 Cash
3rd Place: $100 Cash
